William Bradshaw has been trapped on the world of Other Place as King of the Goblins for an entire year, no small accomplishment! In that time he’s beaten the army of Kervol Ket, destroyed the dreaded Staff of Skulls and most recently buried the immortal madmen of the Eternal Army. He’s also managed to keep from being driven mad by his short, stupid and mildly crazy goblin followers, who respect him even if they won’t listen to him. Now he faces a greater challenge, matrimony. Lydia Lajcak of the Fairy Godmothers has arrived in the Kingdom of the Goblins to find Will a wife. It turns out that being broke and in charge of a nation of idiots isn’t the relationship killer Will thought it was. Lydia isn’t taking no for an answer, and she’s got seventy clients eager to meet Will and desperate enough to put up with his goblins. Is marital bliss in Will’s future? But the search for true love takes a turn for the worse when an assassin attacks Will and Lydia. More assassins follow, each one more deadly than the last and sent by Quentin Peck, the richest man on Other Place. Peck has killers, mercenaries, magic weapons, golems, lawyers and the home court advantage when Will tracks him to the city of Nolod. Will is determined to win or go down fighting with his enthusiastic fire scepter, countless goblins, troll bodyguards, magic mirror and Lydia. Now if he only knew why Peck wants him dead.

I've purchased all of Daigle's books (this is NOT a paid for review or free book type thing) and endorse this one as well. One more in Daigle's series that sports a fun-loving, out-of-control, and highly imaginative group of goblins, along with a few trolls, ruled by a human king, William Bradshaw, tricked into this devious career by unscrupulous lawyers. Lots of little social commentaries but all in fun with twists along the way. Oh, and this one introduces a (somewhat) romantic angle as a fairy godmother tries to hitch the uninterested Will into matrimony. I love all of his books with this one actually stronger (in my opinion) in plot than the last. If you like light-hearted fun in a fantasy, you'll enjoy this one too!Product details

William Bradshaw and Fool Gold Arthur Daigle John Hrubesch 9781544901763 Books Reviews
HE"S BAAACK!!! I was so excited to read this book, because of course GOBLINS I heart them so much. It was everything I was expecting and so much more as always. I got me a big ol' dose of adventure and humor oh lots and lots of humor, but this time we see a bit more edge to Will this time and it is let me tell you here its quite expected I mean with all the stuff and the stuff. Poor Will tho not only does he have to figure out why this new person wants to kill him ( man does this guy have a target on his back) BUt he also has to deal with trying to get set up to get married. Yeah drink that one in. All in all another awesome amazing wonderful funny action-packed adventuresome book that again had me yelling at the end well that it was the end. I never want them to end ='( GO GET THE BOOK!!
You may not have thought about it, but this book answers that very question. (If you're shuddering, just remember - don't make them angry.) Remember, I warned you!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the previous installments of the William Bradshaw series and this one tops them all in my opinion. The plot is rich and the character development is on par as usual. This particular installment is slightly darker in tone than the previous ones, but is still suitable for older children and adults.
Will thought he had encountered (and survived) every kind of adversary that could come after him and his friends. However, he was not expecting to be ambushed by the richest man on Other Place, Quentin Peck. He becomes more dangerous with each unsuccessful attack, until even Will questions how far Peck will go. As he's joined by his loyal followers and new friends alike, he's left to wonder why the man wants him dead.
